Falls Creek features a massive 450 hectares of skiable terrain – that’s the largest of any resort in Victoria. With roughly 90 runs accessed by 14 lifts, there is something to suit every skier and snowboarder’s ability.

Falls Creek has a terrain park to suit all levels of ability and experience. Whether you are an absolute first-timer wanting to grease your first rail or an intermediate eyeing off bigger jumps and features, we have a park and a line to suit you.

For advanced shredders, you can’t go past the advanced line at Ruined Castle – famous for the slopestyle setup ridden by the pros in Falls Creek’s international Terrain Park competitions.

Those at the beginners (green) end of the spectrum will have great fun in the Drovers area and on Wombat’s Ramble, Australia’s longest green run at 2.2km. There is no need to be nervous about unloading from the chairlift for the first time on skis because Halleys Comet and the new Eagle Express are both detachable lifts which mean you can ride them without skis on for a simple step-off at the top.

Wombat’s Ramble lights up on Wednesday and Saturday nights, allowing you to continue your ski and snowboard adventures while the rest of the mountain sleeps. As Australia’s longest green run, Wombat’s Ramble is a favourite of many skiers and snowboarders. The entire length of has been carefully lined with high voltage Green Power floodlights, and lights up from the top of Halley’s Comet at Cloud 9, all the way downhill to QT in Slalom Plaza.

You can choose to drive the snowmobile yourself, or sit back and enjoy the views as a passenger (one passenger per driver).

Tours take in the magnificent views of Mt McKay, The Summit, Frying Pan Spur, Ruined Castle and the very windy Road 24, which runs down the back side of the Summit allowing tours to go as low down as Howman’s Gap (tour routes change regularly depending on weather and snow conditions).

Walking on air 2000 metres above sea level. This 37 kilometre, three-day hike is a trek through some of Australia’s most pristine mountain scenery, crossing the Bogong High Plains in the Victorian Alps and connecting the alpine resorts of Falls Creek and Hotham.

Walk over high alpine ridgelines, down through magical riverside valleys to wetlands brimming with life. Sleep out under blinking stars and unwind amid the tranquil beauty of this ancient country.

There is no disputing – Falls Creek is Bike country! Whether hitting the road or hitting the trails, there is plenty to explore and enjoy in the incredible Alpine National Park.

Spend the morning or afternoon cruising the trails in & around Falls or take the day to visit iconic features like Pretty Valley, Mt McKay and the Tawonga Huts.

Our trails have been built with the rider in mind. Accessible to the newest of bikers and enticing to the most experienced, all trails start in finish in the resort. Easy cruiser, fun flowing descent or all-mountain bash, we’ve got it and it’s all at the doorstep of a ride-in, ride-out village.

Explore the High Country on Horseback?

Bogong Horseback Adventures has been operating in the High Plains for more than 20 years. Their professional guided tours offer an incredible way to experience the picturesque Alpine National Park. Riding out of Pretty Valley, tours take guests across the High Plains. Half, full and multi-day trips are scheduled throughout earlyJanuary.

One of the standout features that make Falls Creek unique is the majestic Rocky Valley Lake.

At 1600m this is the highest significant body of water in Australia. Just a short distance from the heart of the village, the lake provides a playground for a range of aquatic activities.

There are also incredible lakes at nearby Pretty Valley and Bogong Village, plus the village aqueducts, nearby rivers and waterfalls to enjoy.

The closest town is the aptly-named Mt Beauty with the quiet Bogong Village situated in between. From Mt Beauty, you are only a stone’s throw away from any number of activities to experience.
