MT BULLER CONFIRMS CLOSE OF THE SNOW SEASON FOR 2011
The ski lifts will turn for the final day of the 2011 snow season on Sunday 25th September after 106 days of winter fun.
The season kicked off at the beginning of June with traditional Queen’s Birthday long weekend celebrations and a generous cover of snow on the ground making for a bumper start to the winter.
Skiers and snowboarders at Mt Buller have enjoyed 106 days on the slopes exploring over 300 hectares of trails as well as terrain parks and snow play areas all winter at Victoria’s premier ski resort.
Mt Buller had planned to extend skiing into the late school holidays and stretch the season into October however recent warm spring conditions have meant the ski runswill close at the end of September as is traditionally the case.
To celebrate the final week of the snow season Mt Buller is offering FREE skiing and snowboarding for all kids right through to the close of the season. All children right through to Year 12 students can ride the lifts and ski FREE this week.
Mt Buller currently has 6 lifts in operation and up to half a metre of snow cover on key runs including Bourke Street, Summit, Wombat and Little Buller Spur. Adult tickets are the best value in Australia at just $73 for a day ticket and 50% off regular prices for multi-day tickets.
Visitors will be free to drive right into the heart of the alpine village at Mt Buller after Sunday 25th September to enjoy sightseeing and snowplay on the remaining snow cover and explore the beautiful mountain resort. The Mt Buller Chalet Hotel and several other food and beverage venues will operate and a lively summer program including mountain biking tours will soon be on offer.
