Completely snowbound in winter, the only access to the resort is by oversnow transport from Perisher. Although smaller in size than its NSW alpine resort counterparts, it does cater to every level of skier and rider and is an absolute favourite with many of our family travellers.

In summer, Charlotte Pass plays host to Australia's highest New Years Eve celebration, as well as a huge number of alpine enthusiasts heading to the mountains to conquer Mt Kosciuszko walking tracks.

Although accommodation options are less at Charlotte Pass, there is definitely an option to suit you. 'The Grand old Lady of the Mountains' - the Kosciuszko Chalet Hotel is a favourite amongst locals and visitors, providing unique hotel accommodation in the NSW Snowy Mountains.

Selwyn Snowfields

The Alpine Way or Crackenback is the roadway which links Jindabyne to Thredbo, Perisher Ski tube and beyond to Khancoban and finally Victoria. More than 100km in length, it winds its way through some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia. There are many attractions tucked away on route: from the Wild Brumby Schnapps Distillery to spotting actual wild brumbies and Scammels spur lookout offers a vista of the main range from a side not seen by many, a favoured ride for motorcyclists and bicycle riders.
